Update : July, 2014 ...... WOW 35 years .... where have the years gone.
These past few years since our last reunion have been pretty good ones for the Fong family. I am still a part-time Teacher-librarian with the Rmd school district and still loving my job ..( even with the teacher strike .... )
Abbott is busy selling Real Estate, especially with Cambie Re-zoning policies & group land assembly projects. But he still manages to play tennis 4 times a week. After we sold our block across from Oakridge mall , we moved to a house on South Granville and completed a 6 months redo. Since both our kids still live at home, no house is ever too big.
Speaking of kids or young adults ..... Our daughter is 25 and after graduating from SFU, she decide to get her Real Estate license and is now working for ReMax Coal Harbour. Being a social butterfly , she loves her job and is doing very well for a "newbie " . Our son Jonross is 23 and recently graduated from UBC and will be attending the Faculty of Education program in the fall.
We both take every opportunity to spend time with the kids, play tennis and have been taking ballroom dancing lessons for the past two years. Our love of travel has been growing. Besides going to Hawaii every year, we like to visit different parts of Europe.
Although we've had a few challenges with aging parents & pets and the death of my Dad , life has treated us well. As we age, we come to realize that life is short so we try to enjoy the simple pleasures in life and are always appreciative of all our blessings.
We look forward to seeing everyone this coming Sat.

Update: Oct. 2009......
I entered the faculty of Education at UBC in the fall of 1979. Graduated with a Bachelor of Education - Secondary degree in 1984.
I worked for the Vancouver school district for one year then started teaching full time in Richmond in Sept. 1986. I have now taught in Richmond for over 22 years and still enjoying it. In 2005, I received a Graduate diploma in Educational Technology from SFU. This coming September, I plan to add another chapter to my career by becoming the Teacher-Librarian at my school & working part time. This way, I can spend more time doing things that Abbott and I both enjoy ........ traveling,playing tennis, etc.
Abbott & I got married in 1986 and our daughter Jeunesse was born in 1988. Since we still live at Oakridge, Jeunesse also attended Eric Hamber. She is now in third year at SFU and planning to major in Secondary Education. Our son Jonross was born in 1991 and will be in grade 12 at Eric Hamber this fall. You will be amazed how many teachers that were at Hamber in the 70's are still teaching there. Those of you that remember Mr. Chris Robinson, the band teacher, he is retiring this year along with Ms. Deplissey ,the English teacher and Mr. Dave Ellis, the math teacher. Meanwhile, Ms. Lloyd, the PE teacher, Mr. Oakley, the Science teacher, Mr. Simms, the math teacher and Ms. Judi Sommer, the English teacher, are all still teaching at Hamber.
I am looking forward to seeing all the grads of 79 " at our upcoming 30th grad reunion next July 4th, 2009 at the Arbutus club.
